CHRISTMAS TIME

It´s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our school

Here are some guidelines to consider while creating them.

    -You can participate with different designs.

    -Your cards must be given to your English teacher

    -Deadline is December 18th.

We will value: good written messages, creativity, presentation, use of different languages, originality etc

THANKSGIVING in 1º ESO A

One more time my students have been learning about this important North American celebration. This year they have started by singing this rap:

 After that , we have done many other tasks in English, such as:

 1.-Learning about this important tradition in USA with Madeleine (our American Language Assistant).
2.- Finding people they were grateful for and writing down good messages.

3.- Adding their sentences to colourful turkey crafts.

ABROAD IN LA ROSALEDA

 Last Wednesday 5th of November, some of our bilingual classes from 1º, 2º and 4º of  ESO and  teachers have assisted to a Musical in English in La Rosaleda.

We thoroughly enjoyed this activity as you can see by the look of our photos:

HALLOWEEN MONSTERS

 For many years supernatural creatures became associated with All Hallows. That is the reason why    nowadays false vampires, werewolves, witches, zombies, mummies, demons, fairies and above all, monsters are numbered among the legendary creatures who roam on Halloween scenes and get so popular in fancy dress parties all over the world.

No doubt our students from 1º and 2º ESO  have enjoyed a lot describing their monsters while they have also been learning some more English about:

1 -Vocabulary and traditions
2- Drawings and decorations
3- Stories
5- Games
 

And these  were some of our top class results and winners of  Halloween activities

WHY DO WE LEARN ENGLISH?

What are you interested in? Is it science? Music? Computers? Health? Business? Sports? Contact people from all over the world? A good job in the future? etc.Whatever your answer is here,  English well may be the best thing you can do to improve your life in a near future.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

My first post of this school year is just to say hello and welcome you back to school one more time. Some of you I probably already know and some of you I'll meet for the first time but I wish you all the best.

I hope all of you had a lovely time and enjoyed a lot your holidays as much as I did myself !  However at this moment I am just looking forward to working well together and learn a lot from each other.

SUMMER IS ALREADY HERE !

SHARING OUR READINGS

This third term some of my 4º  ESO students have been reading classic books on their own choices from the school library.
Then they had to complete their questionnaires and inform their mates in class, besides sharing their favourite parts by reading aloud as you can see in these photos below.

Later I taught them how to use a new tool called PowToon and they have been doing really nice animated presentations with it.  Here you can see an example created by Pablo:

LONDON PROJECT

My 1º ESO students have been designing educational board games about London during this last week.The main goal was to know more places and people from this important city.

CORRECTING COMMON MISTAKES

This week my students are revising and correcting some of the most common mistakes in English usage.

 First at all they were given a list with the most frequent problems referred to word concordance, spelling, syntax etc from their own compositions.Then they worked in pairs and corrected them on the blackboard.
Finally they had to show the results digitally in order to upload these products on their own blogs.

ACTIVE STUDENT BADGE

This badge is to show that you have participated in class and experienced deeper learning through the course.

Criteria to receive the Badge:

To receive it , you should show that you experienced deeper learning about:

You will need to have completed all your  tasks or  blog to demonstrate that you have one or more of these skills.
